Hawaii Island Humane Society (HIHS) is a nonprofit 501c3 animal welfare organization, operating two animal shelters on Hawaii Island. Our mission is to prevent cruelty to animals, eliminate pet overpopulation, and enhance the bond between humans and animals.
On any given day, our shelters are home to 150 or more animals. We invest in their physical, social, and emotional well-being so that they can find loving families and homes where they will thrive. In addition to providing humane care and sheltering for homeless animals, HIHS preserves families by keeping pets in homes through access to affordable veterinary care, a free Pet Food pantry, education about responsible pet ownership, and more.
With your support, HIHS will be able to reach thousands of pets and people this year.
